The end of the year means we get to look back and check out some musical winners of last year. A poll went out recently asking Fremont students to list their favorite Music Artist of 2024. After 3 long days the results were in and round 2 was in preparation.
Round 1 Wrap Up:
When students were asked to input their favorite Music Artist of 2024 many answers came rolling in from familiar and popular people and some lesser known ones too. With over 200 responses we ended the round with three winners. Billie Eilish, Tyler the Creator, and Kendrick Lamar. In round 2 Fremont students will choose between the three nominated artists and choose the Fremont Nominated Artist of 2024.
Round 2 Wrap Up:
The deadline has passed and the votes are in! Tyler The Creator has won! It was a close tie between Billie Eilish and Tyler but yet he was victorious. Kendrick Lamar had a promising start in round 1 coming in second place passing Billie Eilish but was swept away in round 2. So with that said let’s take an overview of Tyler’s 2024!
2024 was a big year for Tyler the Creator since he released his 8th Studio Album “Chromocopia”. It was a success with many listeners and the reception was positive. The album hit #1 in 8 countries and debuted at #1 in America. The song “Sticky” reached #1 on Billboard Hot 100 for RnB/Hip Hop and with the start of his tour the hype has just begun. This can be seen as Tyler has won the “Popular Vote” with Fremont students.
Tyler the Creator mentions many times that he has no desire to stop making music so we can expect more in the future. But for now let’s all celebrate the work he has done to cement himself as Fremont’s Nominated Artist of The Year.
Author’s Note: I recently finished listening to Chromocopia by Tyler The Creator without any past context of his music before Chromocopia. I thought the album was amazing. I definitely see the hype behind his music and it has inspired me to possibly look into listening to his past albums.
