To get a D1 scholarship you have to have a high school experience of three to four years on varsity as well as at least two years as a starter. A club experience of 4-5 years of  high level travel ball. High level travel ball is where you are playing in A bracket teams. You can try out for a college softball team by communicating with the coach and also by getting invited to tryout camps from the D1 coaches. D1 tryout requirements include getting from home to 1st base in three seconds, overhand throw of 60 MPH, batting average of 330+, at least two home runs, RBIs 20+, and a fielding percentage of 990.

The college teams that are Big 10 contenders are UCLA and Oregon. Teams that are in ACC are Stanford and California. In the Big 12 are Arizona and Utah. The SEC contenders are Oklahoma and Texas. These are the conferences that these teams are in.

The season starts early February, and they end in early June. The college World Series starts May 29th and ends June sixth.  The current World Series champion is Oklahoma, who have won the World Series four years in a row. Overall they were World Series champions seven times.
